Education Project Grants
The EWC Foundation will provide support for in-class activities, field trips, or instructional support projects that enhance the educational experience of students, faculty, and staff. The degree of innovation in the proposed project or activity is important and should be clearly defined within the scope of the application.
Eligibility
Projects may be submitted from students, administrators, faculty or staff in any of the College’s service areas.
Application Form and Deadlines
The Foundation will receive applications one per year, by October 15. Applications will be reviewed by EWC Foundation Project Investment Committee, and their recommendation will be forwarded to the Foundation Board of Directors for final approval.
Types of Projects Eligible for Support
The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation encourages faculty and staff innovation and opportunity by awarding Educational Project Grants which provide funding assistance for projects that are not supported by the Eastern Wyoming College budget, but do support the Eastern Wyoming College strategic plan. The Foundation is especially interested in projects tied to increasing student enrollment, retention and persistence rates. Some ideas for grant applications:
- Student recruitment and retention activities.
- Workshops, guest speakers, and enrichment activities to enhance the college experience.
- The improvement of existing courses and programs, or the development of innovative teaching techniques and new instructional materials.
- The acquisition of equipment, materials, and supplies needed to improve curriculum, procedures, or other functions of the college.
- The improvement of student services, the learning environment, job placement, or any other aspect of student life as it relates to the college.
- The planning of new courses of study or the evaluation of existing courses and programs.
- The development of appropriate vehicles to showcase talents and accomplishments of students, faculty, and staff.
- Professional development to enhance faculty/staff current responsibilities or develop new student opportunities.
Conditions of the Award:
Funds may not be used for purposes substantially different from the intent expressed in the application. Small deviations from the proposed budget such as substitutions of vendors or changes in prices of goods or services are allowable. The applicant is responsible for submitting a final cost statement to the Foundation.
Endorsements:
- Endorsement required for non-faculty staff application: Department Supervisor
- Endorsement required for faculty application: Executive Dean of Academics
- Endorsement required for student application: EWC faculty/advisor
Stipulations
Continuing, or extension awards, may be awarded for the lifetime of the project. The Foundation is not obligated to fund any project in a particular time-frame and may award amounts less than the amount requested.
